I misguidedly trusted Forbes.com reviews when it came to buying a primary care travel insurance policy for a long term trip, only to find that Travel Guard whom they ranked in their top 2, is awful, and that the AIG policy they sold me is a lemon. Over 2 weeks have gone by and not a single response from AIG for the claim that I sent, and when I called their 24/7 line, received a message saying call after 8.30am EST! When I called someone not from the East Coast told me their claims are taking longer than 15 business days due to high volume, but they promised a 10-15 day turnaround. I am now stuck with medical bills that were supposed to have been paid, wondering how long this will all take, and incorrect information about the help I should receive.
