I am 63 years old ,retired Police Officer (current business owner) and a stand up guy and a bit of a motorhead. I currently own a Commercial van, truck, corvette, new Lexus and 4 Motorcycles and have bought and sold (honestly with full clarity on any vehicle I sold) many, many vehicles in my lifetime- just to establish my credibility. I have been to many dealerships and know about all the scams and sleazy sales tactics they use (My brother in law was a car salesman/manager at many dealerships his whole life -so I had 'inside info', besides life experience, regarding this). STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCUMBAGS AT ALL COSTS. These underhanded lying dirt bags are the sleazyist liars I have ever met in my lifetime. I saw a car for my son on Carsguru and called them. The price was 12.5K for a 2016 Subaru. We called for an appt and started to drive there- a 50 min trip. On the way my son saw the same car on a different site for 20K. We called again to verify the price and was told - 'Yes the car is 12.5K for cash , only 20K if u need to finance' My wife repeated 'R u sure? We're traveling a long distance' She replied 'Yes we're sure, come on down' (The 2016 Subaru at 12.5K is a good deal- at 20K it is way overpriced) We arrived and was told the car was being brought over. The little lying sales girl wouldn't answer any questions about the car price until we 'saw it' - red flag. While there we asked about another car (By the way - this place is basically a large unfinished warehouse stocked with cars and a couple of office desks throw in - my next red flag) When asking about the car on the floor she kept telling us about how great it was, how clean , what a deal -yada yada yada . I asked three times 'How much is the car?' She wouldn't answer. Finally I actually got a little rude and said 'Stop - HOW ...MUCH .....IS .....THE .....CAR?' To which she said something like 24K for a 2014 Honda Civic base model (Ridiculously high - next red flag - also red flag that the dealership 'trained' her in deceptive tactics ) So the Subaru we were interested finally gets brought over from their 'other yard' and its not in good shape for a 2016 car. So I sit in it and start it and say to her "What is the price ?' she says '20K' to which I reply about the ad for 12.5K and our phone call. She says 'Well its 12.5K plus a 6K deposit' I said 'There is nothing in ur ad about a 6K deposit and I was very firm on the phone about the actual price and our long trip to the dealer'. I was getting really mad and raised my voice a little while also saying 'Listen, I don't blame u , I know u just work here, I don't take this personal, and this is just the deanship's' scheme, but this is BS - I just drove for 50 minutes for nothing' I then said I wanted to speak to 'Mary' (Unk real name - it escapes me) about why she lied to me on the phone. 'Well she's busy' 'I'll wait' I said .' You cant speak to her' she said. 'Get me ur manager' I said. 'No problem, He'll want to talk to u anyway' she said(usually a last ditch effort to get u to stay for a sale) . She went back and talked to the manager and then came back. She said 'He's busy now and can't speak to you' I looked at her and said 'No, he's not coming over because I'm mad and u told him that' . She just smiled and said 'Yes' I said 'So why did Mary tell me to come down and the cash price was 12K and she repeated , with confidence, it is 12K!' to which she said 'Well.....she is new' .I replied 'Now I am taking this personal from YOU because you're now lying to me' She then says 'You being disrespectful to me now sir' To which I reply 'No I'm just calling u out for lying to me. Now, you're being disrespectful to me for lying to me and getting me to waist an hour and a half trip to try and trick me into buying an over priced car. This place is a feces show. I'm leaving' As we walked out the ignorant low class car transporter boys wanted to get their jab in (after listening to our talk with the sales girl) and said sarcastically 'Anything wrong sir? Have a nice day!' Please ,please stay away from these Aholes. It was very apparent that this whole dealership is a trained scam operation. Sorry for the long read. If it helps one person it was worth it
