Avoid Expedia and Their Useless Travel Insurance – Worst Experience EverWe booked a hotel through Expedia and paid an extra $9 for travel insurance (through them) that was supposed to protect us in case of cancellation, refunds, etc.The original booking was for April 13th, but we wanted to move it to April 12th - and we’re requesting this 12 days in advance. Expedia told us the hotel wouldn’t change the date for free - fine, we get it, hotels can be greedy. But here’s where things go off the rails: Even with the travel insurance, Expedia is denying us a refund. They told us we have to call some 3rd-party agency called Travel Guard (??). I sat on the line for 30 minutes just to get hung up on - what kind of scam is this? So, Expedia - what exactly is this "insurance" for? You take our money, then push us off to some shady call center to handle claims? If you charge us for insurance, YOU should handle the refund process - not send us to some random number. It’s insane that Expedia takes no responsibility once they’ve charged our card.Just a warning to others: DO NOT USE EXPEDIA. Their travel insurance is a complete joke and the customer support is useless.#Expedia #TravelInsuranceScam #TravelGuard #DoNotUseExpedia #ExpediaSucks #ScamAlert #TravelNightmare
