This company, in my opinion, are liars and crooks and they completely ignore customers. I subscribed to this piece of crap to watch the Michigan/Washington championship football game. I tried to find answers on ESPN about watching the game before I subscribed. I read the game would be broadcast live on ESPN. Not being able to find any details on ESPN I googled ESPN to find out additional details. Three different sites said the game could be watched live on ESPN. I went to Best Buy and talked to the people there. They told me the same thing. I tried to find out how to create an account with ESPN. I was told to open the account with ESPN+ but I could still watch the game on ESPN.So I subscribed to this “Wonderful” ESPN+ and found there was no way in Hell I was going to be able to watch my game. You must have a tv provider, whatever the Hell that is. What it is is a way to rob people of their hard earned money. I’m 79 and retirement money isn’t plentiful enough to spend it on all these expensive tv providers, especially since everything I read and was told is that I could watch the game live on ESPN. I tried everything I could think of to get that game but everything I tried said I had to chose a tv provider. Don’t you think you jerks should make that a little more clear that a game being broadcast live means nothing unless you shuck out a bunch more money for a tv provider? I'd call it a blatant ripoff by a bunch of greedy crooks and thieves. You deliberately don’t explain anything so you can’t be accused of being crooked thieves. Well you are a bunch of crooked thieves in my opinion. Any business that hides the facts is a bunch of crooked thieves. You got my money and I missed my football game. You stung me once but you will never, ever sting me again. I was willing to try ESPN for the football game (a whole lot of good that did me) but I also thought I could watch some hockey games ( a whole lot of good that thought did me as well). So I’m sitting here at 5:31 pm on 1/8/2024 writing this message about what a piece of crap ESPN is and cancelling my subscription instead of watching the football game I paid the subscription for. You crooks should be proud of yourselves for your devious crooked scams. But there is more to ESPN's method of cheating people. When I clicked on manage my subscription I also clicked on cancel my subscription and a window popped up "Here"' "We don't want to lose you". So I clicked on Here and wrote out my complaint and sent it. Then I got a message that it is an email account that no one watches. ESPN has arranged for the complaints to go to a dead end mailbox. What a brilliant way to handle complaints, but they weren't smart enough to keep quiet about the dead end email box. ESPN counts on their tactics to make you go away. It's just another example of the pathetically poor way ESPN deals with customers. I subscribed to watch the football game only to find out I could not get the game without a tv provider. ESPN did not say that was a requirement. It's just another example of how ESPN cheats people. By the way I tried the telephone number that was listed. I wouldn't live long enough for somebody to respond so I hung up. Another brilliant way for ESPN to deal with angry customers. If the dead end email account doesn't stop you maybe the unmanned telephone will make you go away or die of old age while waiting for no one to answer. I have to say it is another brilliant way to discourage complaints. I would give ESPN a -10 for customer service but a 5 for their brilliant ways of avoiding complaints. ESPN are master's at avoiding angry customers. I am very surprised that ESPN got a 1.2 ranking but even a blind squirrel sometimes finds an acorn so anything is possible. I cancelled my subscription. I was likely the shortest term customer ESPN ever had. I subscribed to ESPN about 3:30 pm and unsubscribed a couple of hours later. They pulled a fast maneuver on me and did not keep there end of the deal so there is little point in keeping ESPN since I can’t watch anything without subscribing to a tv provider. Even then I doubt it will work. In a way it's good to know they cheat everyone equally and not just prey on the elderly. That's about the best compliment I can give them other than their methods of avoiding emails and telephone calls is quite brilliant. I know that sounds odd complimenting them on their methods of cheating people but they are quite good at it. Look how many of us were suckers and they cheated us. I hope you people rot in Hell for your deceptions. You can tell ESPN that Frank W wrote this and I'm not done with ESPN yet. I have my subscription cost to work out by badmouthing this piece of crap company. ESPN will find out there are other ways besides dead end email boxes and unmanned telephones for angry customers to get their comments heard.
