So I placed an order for one of my favorite restaurants, the order consisted of 3 items. After completing the order I forgot an item so I used the add on option which was available. The driver arrived on time and was friendly, but as I’m receiving my order I realized it was only one bag. Since the meals were in square Styrofoam containers there was no way the added on item could fit in that one bag with everything else. So I looked in the bag and then asked the driver where was the other item, he told me that the restaurant said everything was there. I then said no I’m missing the added on item, he said “yeah I seen that there was an add on there but they told me everything was correct and in the bag”. I didn’t get upset or mad because maybe they did tell him that. So I told the driver don’t worry about it I’ll just contact door dash to get it corrected. I opened the app an went through the refund process. A message popped up saying we’ve noticed you’ve had orders issues in the past we will have to review. I was like ok because I have had issues with orders not being delivered etc. then a few minutes go by and I was denied a refund. I then escalated the issue for further review. I went on about my day and did not open the app again until a day later because I honestly forgot about it and seen yet again another denial for a refund. So I contacted someone through chat, I explained the issue and was told they will look into it again. To be denied moments later. I asked what the issue was I pay for an item I have the bill statement to prove it and did not receive the item. He said something about the system not issuing out a refund or credit but wouldn’t go into detail. Now mind you it’s just 22 bucks but it’s my 22 dollars, if I paid for a service I should receive what I paid for. He told me there was nothing more he could do, so I told him thank you and that I was no longer using this service due to this happening far too often with my orders. My main issue through that long story was, how many people does this happen to. These food delivery companies are getting more expensive due to a lot of different factors but the mistakes are also going up. When you report the problem there isn’t a decent solution to fix it. I just want to make people aware of the problems you may face when using these services and their isn’t much help to resolve an issue when it happens.
