Last year I went to Disney for first time in 25 years. This year I tried it again, just got back home. The parks and rides are amazing - The BS you must deal with to even get onto a ride is less than reasonable. Last year I purchased a Genie+ option for under $4o per person for a week. THIS year it is between $37 and $45 per couple per day! Depending on day and attendance at the park. THEN the most popular rides on top of above- you can pay for Lightening Lane in addition to Genie +, another $30 PER Couple PER RIDE. They go by the attendance, the more people in the park, the more they charge for these “experiences” as they call them – IT’s a Ride! Now let’s talk about the Dining Selections for each park. Grand Floridian was the most expensive $250 per couple for dinner – no alcohol!! The average Dinning “Experience” was $200 per couple per night. Half of the meals were great, the other half – not so much, and seating is extremely close! We stayed at Pop Secret, one of the least expensive Disney Resorts. Location was great, Sky Liner was right there. Good Luck you when you must take the Bus or Monorail … People on top of People! Now comes the most frustrating part of the entire experience. Charge your cell phone to the Max because you will be on it ALL Day booking these rides, checking times, trying to figure out a strategy for bookings. There’s an entire process and timing for this, you can only book one ride at a time, you better get up early and book the most popular first. Starts at 7am! Yes, they DO shut down the “Lightening Lane” if too many “guests” have booked, even after you pay if it’s late at night. I could go on and on -there is more! Lastly, I will say the staff is extremely helpful, polite, and super nice. Disney has become a destination for the wealthy. It is in fact the most “Magical Place on Earth” – your money magically disappears right before your eyes!! 8 days, two people, $5000- No air fare or alcohol included –
