Our experience with Delta Air Lines on our flight from Maui to Los Angeles on July 31 was appalling. Despite having a 5-year-old and a 10-year-old, we were seated separately from our children. When we raised our concerns, we were dismissively told that seating arrangements were not Delta’s responsibility.Before our trip, we were assured by our travel agent that at least one adult would be seated with one child. Had we known there was a risk of being seated apart, we would have made different arrangements. This situation is completely unacceptable and caused us a great deal of distress.Our travel agent explained that Delta should never seat young children alone and that it is the airline’s responsibility to ensure families are seated together if pre-booking wasn’t done. Delta staff at check-in, the gate, or on the flight should have resolved this issue, but they failed to do so.This experience has left us extremely disappointed with Delta Airlines, and we hope no other family has to go through what we did.
