Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever. I've been a Dell owner for years and have been happy with my existing PC, a Dell Inspiron 2305 all-in-one. It was time for an upgrade, so I purchased a Dell Inspiron 7710 all-in-one, and that is where the nightmare began. The PC was not handling the HDMI sound coming from my XBOX ONE properly. After multiple sessions with their tech support, no fix was in sight. I had the Geek Squad in to check it out. They couldn't fix the problem either, but offered up a suggestion. They suggested buying a sound bar, and running the audio through an optical cable and shutting off the HDMI sound on the XBOX off completely. I purchased the least expensive soundbar I could find (under $100) and hooked it up. Problem solved. I asked if Dell would reimburse me for the soundbar, and that was a flat out NO. That was even after escalating it four levels to their corporate office. They tell me they would be willing to do warranty work on it, e.g. reinstalling the operating system and replacing parts (the motherboard). That would use up even more of my time and potentially leave me without a PC for a period of time; and with no guarantee of success. They would go through all of that, rather than reimburse me for the cost of the soundbar, which is a workaround that I am happy to live with.
