This review is specifically for the Dell Support Assist embedded chat support technicians:Don't waste your time. Save your sanity and just call it in to their phone support. These chat support folks have no clue what they are doing and only repeat scripted steps, they are not allowed, nor trained to think on their own.I have full on-site support and one of their managers still insisted on trying to force me to mail in my computer in order to troubleshoot an Nvidia Gforce video card (Dell Branded and sold in the system) issue.I have used Dell systems for more than 20 years now, and the quality of their support has become worse and worse over time. They used to have excellent support, even through chat, but that has not been true for about 5 years now. Save yourself the aggravation; get their premium support and call it in. You will get Americans who are far better trained to help you. The rest of it is pure garbage.I am actually right now finishing up my 2-hour marathon support chat for an extremely simple issue requiring a video card replacement. The chat supervisor even attempted to force me to mail in my computer to their repair depot in order to repair the Dell-Branded Nvidia GForce card even though I have the highest tier of paid support and the part is a simple riser card. They actually tried a revenge-move on me today. Fortunately, I keep transcripts of all chats and reminded them of that: He instantly backed away from the Depot repair requirement and began to process the Video Card replacement. But it took a lot to get this done, and I've been working in IT for 20 years and know all their tricks; imagine how some little old lady with a broken computer would fare... It would not be pretty. And yes, I could have followed my own advice and called this in to phone support, but I had time today, and saw Trustpilot, so I went the extra mile and stuck with Chat support to see how hard I actually had to push in order to accomplish a simple follow-up and re-dispatch another part. For me it was both frustrating and entertaining, but I know others would be pulling out their hair at this point and you really shouldn't have to pay a premium like I did for my kid's computer just to receive support from folks who know how to fix a computer without a script to guide them, because once your issue goes beyond their little scripted box; you're up a creak my friend and the paddling from there on is a living hell.
