NEVER buy an appliance through Costco, and NEVER buy GE!!!!!!

In the past, I've always trusted Costco for major purchases, not just daily shopping needs. I'll NEVER do that again! And NEVER purchase a GE major appliance at all, even through a different vendor. In September 2024, I bought a GE Profile 5.3 cu ft washing machine with an extended warranty, a purchase totaling $1,399.18, and I quickly discovered that the machine is awful. The machine is disruptive with very loud repetitive banging for about 15 minutes, that GE attributes to its water efficiency design. And I can't wash a bath towel and a hand towel because the machine can't detect this as a small load and won't spin the towels dry. My choices are to hold my dirty towels until I build up a few of them before I can run a load, or I have to literally hand wring out the water from the towels before I can put them in the dryer. In my 70 years of living, I've NEVER had to do either of those things with any previous washers, and no one I know has to do that with their current non-GE washers. Everyone I've told about it is in utter disbelief. In good faith, I trusted Costco and followed the warranty process, only to discover that the issues are not repairable because they're part of GE's poor engineering design. GE has refused to take the machine back, and Costco leadership has refused to do an internal exchange. It's a disgrace - I'm stuck with a HORRIBLE washing machine and neither GE nor Costco cares. From their standpoint, the joke is on me, and it seems they're right because $1,400 later, I can no longer dispute the charge with my credit card due to their 90-day dispute filing deadline. Do yourself a favor - buy ANY manufacturer's washer other than GE and, if you have to spend a little more money to get it from a more reputable, respectable and honorable vendor than Costco has shown themselves to be, do it!!!!!!! I’m truly sad because Costco always used to have their customers’ backs, and that seems to be over.
