Useless customer service and fraudulent hotels

I used to use booking.com regularly. However, I am unsure if I will use them again. They support fraudulent hotels and partner companies. Booking.com marketing the hotel we stayed at is borderline fraudulent. The property is not fit for purpose. It is unhygienic, mouldy and falling apart. The bedsheets, walls, and handles were stained and unclean. We had to change three times until we found a room that didn’t have as much black mould and was slightly cleaner. However every room we were shown, hallway, lift and reception was dirty. I was told that having a clean room was “a preference”. It is completely unacceptable for booking.con to have a hotel like this on their site. The hotel refused to give a refund and booking.com refused to help, stating only “thanks for the feedback” and it not being a “perfect stay” which was completely unacceptable. It was impossible to communicate with them and they did nothing to help resolve this issue. It is booking.com’s responsibility to look after their customers if they are facilitating partner companies and hotels that are way below the standard of hygiene acceptable for a hotel.
