I don't begrudge the licence cost as I really enjoy many of the BBC period and other dramas, although it should be a subscription service rather than mandatory. The far left political agenda evident from the news and current affairs programmes, however, is indefensible; they should report news impartially, not offer opinions, nor load interview questions to obtain the "correct" response. Worse still, is the insidious pushing of this agenda in much of their output aimed at the uneducated (East Enders, for example). The coverage of coronavirus has been appalling; accepting and pushing everything put forward by the government and the "scientists", despite them having been proved wrong about absolutely everything, interviewing only supporters of authoritarian measures here and overseas, but not a single mention of the anti lockdown protests and police brutality in Europe and elsewhere, that I have seen. The news programmes may as well be Facebook / Twitter / Instagram for their balance and accuracy. I don't bother watching or listening to their news or current affairs output any more.
