After 50 years of AT&T I think I will change carriers. So sad. I wanted to unlock my phone due to extenuating circumstances. They won't unlock my phone without my losing money for the phone I traded in though I was told when I bought the phone it was already unlocked. Also they used to have a deal whereby you could put your service on hold and pay a reduced rate. They only have that for military now. There is no negotiating. There is no escalated support. All agents say "their hands are tied" - they can't do anything. There is no way to get in touch with anyone at the corporate office.
