Priority Service?

My wife and I choose to retain our landline home telephone service for a number of reasons. I picked up the phone to place a call on Thursday, April 3, and there was no dial tone. I immediately filed a report online. AT&T sent me an email confirmation of my report and stated that our service would be restored by Tuesday, April 8, five days later! Tuesday came and went, and I received a text message from AT&T that they couldn't get around to us on April 8, so thy would give us priority service on Wednesday, April 9. I'm writing this review after business hours on April 9, and we have heard nothing from AT&T. If this is priority service, I'm glad we aren't getting routine service! We pay just over $79 a month for our home phone, and I think we should get a rebate for the days we were without service.
