My mum and i took out a card at the same time with a decent starting limit. Amex was actually really good with customer service and helping with disputes. My issue was when they plunged my limit from 10k to 1k. I was trying to use the card online for a purchase under £800 when the transaction failed and i got an email right away stating my credit had been reduced after a "review". I called them and they said i needed to have 40% of my limit in a bank account available. I sent them bank statements that showed i had this and fought 2 months or so before my limit was put back. A year later, they did the exact same thing again and once again asked for proof. I sent the same proof again but this time, it apparently wasn't good enough. I was annoyed at this point as no other credit card has ever done this to me, so i just cancelled the card. This is why my experience with them is a mixture of good and bad. Customer service has always been 1st class
