I have been a Platinum card holder for 15 years and in the past 6 months have been dealing with charges made in error by AMEX ...I have an 8-page dossier of phone calls, documents uploaded to provide evidence of AMEX's failure, been accused of falsifying evidence using mocked up letterhead, and despite being given minimal financial compensation the problem was still not completely resolved. Today after another letter with instructions to close my account was ignored, I snapped, fed up of the apathy and excuses regarding 'procedure' being trotted out - I finally closed the account. I hadn't thought to check TrustPilot until last week and so now feel some level of support from other reviewers that I am not alone but others have also had horrendous experiences. A global brand? Other credit providers will now benefit from my business.
