Very bad customer service…

We are getting new postmen and women fairly regularly and it can cause some mixups. The post office delivered my Amex bill to a neighbor by mistake while that neighbor was out of town. The neighbor dropped if off when t hey got back on Feb 14th and i sent a check in that same day. The due date was February 16th and the Amex statement showed the payment arrived on Feb 17, one day late. Amex imposed a late fee of $29.00 AND raised the card interest rate to 29.99% !! Even though this was the only payment ever late and it was the post offices fault. I asked if they could waive or reduce this and they said no - that i did not do enough business with them for it to be worthwhile for t hem to review this!! What a crock. If they want the kind of business i give other card issuers, they need to do a lot better job at customer service. I will be cancelling all my Amex accounts. Do not get or use American Express cards.
