Wow, what the hell has happened to American Express customer services. The days of calling and having one person fix anything and everything are long gone. I wanted to change my BA Amex card over to a Platinum Card. I was told not to worry as a 23 year customers and perfect history this was trivial. Well I applied and got declined....Rude staff in India told me "it is what it is", and I had too much credit on the card I was going to cancel? Wrote a letter to ask them to help, they called and said they hadn't upheld my complaint. I didn't complain, I asked for help. They even lied, saying I had sent an email saying I didn't want the card. I never sent an email, and the complaints lady admitted she didn't even have the emails. So that's it, 23 years and I am no longer a customer. No one cares, no one was bothered. I have written to Denies Pickett who heads up Global Customer Services in NYC to express how she has screwed up the entire benefit of Amex. Great customer care.
