The American Express Travel web site…

The American Express Travel web site uses a "default" American Express Card from my American Express credit card account. When I make a travel purchase online via the American Express Travel web site, I may ONLY use my default payment card for the purchase. How do you change the default payment card? Seems like a simple question and answer, correct? No one at American Express Customer Service is able to answer the question or provide instruction regarding how to change the default credit card for AMEX Travel purchases.I've chatted with AMEX Customer Service for over an hour today. The instruction they provided resulted in me requesting a new credit card, which I do not need. They were simply not able to help me, so they finally directed me to call the Customer Service Number on the back of my credit card.I have now been on the telephone with American Express customer service for over 2 hours. I've been transferred back and forth from Customer Service to Card Member Services to Technical Support to AMEX travel. No one at American Express seems to know how to change the default payment card on the AMEX Travel web site. How is this possible? Everyone I talk with is very friendly and supportive and says they understand my frustration and they're sorry they're unable to help me, and then they just keep transferring me back and forth between departments. I can't imagine how so many customer service team members at American Express are uneducated about their travel website. I also cannot believe they just simply keep passing my call back and forth between departments with absolutely no resolution.I am beyond frustrated. I have 8 American Express credit cards that I use for both personal and business expenses and I spend around $100,000 per month on these cards. Why should I continue using American Express if this is the kind of service I'm going to receive?Today is the day to move to CHASE or CAPITAL ONE for all my future credit card needs!!!
