I joined Alamy in 2018, and had a portfolio of around 5,500 images. However, decided to stop using it due mainly to three issues.A few years ago, Alamy revised the commision rates. All new contributors start at a 40% rate, and alam's year starts 1st July. Should any contributor not achieve a minimum of $250 sales during any subsequent year, the payout will be at the Alamy Silver rate of 20%, and as I found out, if multiple purchases are made at the same time by the same buyer which take you into Gold - the 40% rate - they will still be paid at the Silver rate.Issue #2 is the usual rate I am receiving is $15, for which the buyer may, in perpituity, use the image on social media, websites and print runs of up to 5,000. I am selling prints on eBay for personal use only, and receive about half that amount (I am referring to what Alamy pays me).Issue #3 is what is going on with Alamy QC? Emails confirming whether your latest submission was successful or not recently stopped, and more importantly, I have had an image rejected because it contains "unsuitable material" Alamy's guide helpfully explains that this may be due to (but not necissarily) glamour, pornography, or copyright issues. The image concerned is of a Lisbon tram. I have requested an explanation, but alamy have not replied. I posted the same on the contributor forum, but no comment or advice forthcoming. My account has been frozen, and then I receive an email congratulating me on my submission being successful, and Alamy is looking forward to receiving my next submission!
