We booked a motel through Agoda about 6 weeks prior to Thanksgiving with our credit card. We were supposed to be charged at the motel when we stayed there but Agoda put the charge through on the day we booked with them. We didn't find out about the charge until we got our statement. We also had to cancel 3 weeks prior to our reservation date. We tried to cancel through Agoda with our booking number but couldn't get through on their site to remove the charge and cancel our reservation. We tried with their chat bot but it wouldn't accept the booking number. We tried twice with the chat bot and it said we only had two chances to chat and would have to try again in an hour. Then we tried to call and got a similar response with their phone bot. We never could talk to a real person at Agoda. Finally we called the hotel owner and he tried to untangle it but it took several calls over almost 3 weeks before the charge was removed from our credit card. The motel owner was very understanding and helpful. It was not his error. Agoda is part of Booking.com which is part of Priceline. It's digital shapeshifting. Agoda was impossible. I would never use them again. From now on I will book with the provider directly by phone or email. The whole thing took way too much of our and the hotel owner's time and it was totally Agoda's error.Buyer Beware!
