I will absolutely never use Agoda again. My credit card company declined a transaction because it looked suspicious. That caused my reservation to get canceled. Agoda’s instructions were to rebook. I did that and somehow my reservation was duplicated. I immediately requested a free cancellation or full refund on one of the reservations. Agoda stated they needed to contact the property, came back and told me the hotel declined but they were willing to give me a 50% refund in Agoda credits. I’ve been going back and forth with their customer service because this is so wrong. I did nothing wrong in this situation and they are basically trying to rob me of $624. I reached out to the hotel directly and they said no one from Agoda contacted them and they are more than willing to refund me. I shared that with Agoda and they said that their “partner company” also needs to approve and they do not. It’s insane! So now I’m working through my credit card company to fight this. What is wrong with companies nowadays? Everyone is so money hungry they are willing to lose customers doing the wrong thing than just fixing an issue that wasn’t even my fault.
