I had a very disappointing experience using Agoda and would caution others to be careful when booking through their platform. I stayed at a property listed on Agoda where I encountered serious issues — including illegal drug use at the location — which I reported to Agoda immediately. Despite the severity of the situation, they continued to advertise the property and failed to take timely action or follow up with the property management for over two weeks.To make matters worse, my £80 deposit was never returned. After multiple follow-ups, Agoda finally responded but suggested that I provide a bank letter confirming I wasn’t disputing the charge — implying that my decision to raise a dispute was the reason they wouldn't assist further. This felt like an indirect threat and an attempt to pressure me into cancelling a legitimate complaint rather than addressing the issue professionally.It’s incredibly disappointing to see such a lack of accountability and customer support from a global booking platform. I expected more integrity and responsibility, especially when safety concerns are involved. Proceed with caution.
