This review is more about the insidious way in which I acquired an unwanted Klarna account when ordering from Adidas rather than goods and services which were excellent. If anyone reading this thinks that I have no one but myself to blame for what happened then rest assured that I completely agree. I should have been more diligent. I usually am but I let my guard down in my haste to secure the purchase.I had reached the payment stage on the Adidas web-site. There were (I believe) 4 options: Debit card, Klarna 3 instalments, Klarna 30 days and Paypal. Choosing Debit card returned a garbled message about phoning in card details because cards don’t work on line. Clicking either of the klarna options had no effect at all, so I chose PayPal which caused the proceed button to disappear. I then clicked the klarna 30 day option and, subsequent to giving my email address and phone number, it worked. Not having heard of Klarna before I assumed that my PayPal account would be used to pay adidas via Klarna (foolish I know). To cut a long story short: I now have a Klarna account that I did not, and do not, want and for the present I appear to be stuck with it. Closing the account involves a complex multi-step process, obviously designed to deter account holders from closing their account, which I have not quite got my head around yet.UPDATE (2/1/24). Haven't been able to close Klarna account. The only method accepted is online chat - with a predicted 70 MINUTE waiting time!
