AAA LOCAL OFFICE ASSISTED WITH CORPORATE NON-RESPONSE

I had just purchased a used auto 2 weeks prior. It did not have an unlock key for wheel lock. I ordered an unlock key and it shipped on Monday from New York. On Tuesday I had a flat tire on Interstate 4 in Florida. I called FDOT for help. They could not remove lug nut without damage and would not assume liability. I called AAA as I am a Plus member for 23 years. It was 3:45 in the afternoon. I called AAA Roadside Assistance at 3:49. I was told by the agent someone would be contacting me soon for a tow and a weblink for status updates was sent to my phone. The link, which I frequently refreshed, said I would be picked up at 4:22, then 4:38, then 4:55. I called agent again at 5:04. The agent told me that I was in the queue and I could "leave the car" and it would be eventually be towed! I told the agent that I was on the shoulder, on an overpass of Interstate 4! Unbelievable! I received a text on my phone at 5:04 stating that AAA was experiencing a high volume of calls and apologized for the inconvenience! I updated the weblink to ask that I be picked up before sunset at 7:00 for safety’s sake. I called AAA back at 6:50 and spoke to Tracey. She sounded as if she was aghast when I told her I had been waiting since 3:45. She asked me to wait while she made some calls for me. She came back on midway through the hold to let me know she was still trying. 16 minutes later she told me she had worked a miracle and a tow would be there in 20 minutes. A tow dispatcher called me at 7:06 and said that they must have a glitch in the system as my tow request wasn't even in the system. However, the driver was currently dropping off a tow and would get to us next. Tow driver arrived at 7:48. Horrible service for a 23 year member! I called corporate on the 17th to complain and I was told that there was no glitch in the system and a credit, ($10 for every hour I waited according to the agent), would be CREDITED to MY RENEWAL!! I asked for a manager or supervisor of roadside assistance at AAA Corporate to return my call. The representative stated that he would put in my request for a call back. Two days later and no return call! It's now the 20th and I'll NOT be RENEWING my AAA Membership next year! $165 a year, 3 tows in 23 years and one very long wait on Interstate 4 for my LAST AAA tow!UPDATE TO ABOVE REVIEW: I reached out to my local AAA Office and spoke to our contact there and explained the above. She was very apologetic and stated that they had a customer the same day I called who had a similar experience with only a 2 1/2 wait for a tow. She asked if I was indeed going to cancel my membership ( as I had emailed her my communications with AAA Roadside Assistance as well as my review) and I told her that if I did not get the following year membership fee waived that it was my intention to cancel. She put in a request to her Manager and yesterday I received my bill for 2025 and the additional reward dollars needed to cover my annual renewal were deposited and my 2025 balance due was $0! Thank you to my representative for pushing my rope up the corporate hill and getting someone to understand that my experience with Roadside Assistance on Oct 15 was abysmal! On the bright side, I was traveling with my neighbor and friend whose car broke down about two miles from our house and I only waited 45 minutes to get us towed home! Much improved experience EXCEPT the automated reply to my call to Roadside Assistance was slow as responses were not understood by automated system resulting in three separate calls to get a LIVE person on the phone to put in my request!
