I didn't know my AAA membership expired last July. Today I needed assistance, my car wouldn't turn over. AAA offered me a renewal for the Plus membership at a discount, and I asked if that would permit me assistance today. I was told yes, I would be permitted assistance for up to 4 times in a year. I even added my daughter to the plan for an additional fee. Then I was connected to roadside assistance and was informed for the first time that I would be charged a "same day" service fee of $60.00 and that fee would be applied over the next 72 hours. This was incredibly deceptive to not inform me of this before renewing my membership. I could have called a local service on my own for the same fee and no renewal of my membership. Again, so deceptive. I will call service to cancel my membership, I'm that unhappy about being deceived.
