Having used 99designs in the past, I thought it would be nice to try it again.
I chose the Gold package, as I really needed something special, and didn't want to spend time filtering through mediocre proposals.
However the quality of the designs we saw was horrible. We even got the first round extended, to allow for more designers and give the existing ones more time - But little did it help. We were flooded with half-hearted attempts, that just rearranged the elements we already had on the page.
The account manager was helpful, and gave feedback that our brief was "looking great".
After the contest had ended, I contacted our account manager, and told her, that we were deeply disappointed with the outcome, and that we wouldn't be coming back in the future after that experience - To which she replied with a discount for future purchases - How ironic.
We ended up paying for a useless design and using our old frontpage. What a waste of money.
