Google update broke my phone

I received the latest update for my Google pixel 4a this month (January 2025) only to find it destroyed my battery. Not a word of warning about this from Google. I've no doubt they're still rolling it out. Google admits their failure and is offering free battery replacements for phones that have suffered.Following their advice, I visited the EE shop in Aintree Merseyside who told me my phone must be sent away and would be wiped during the procedure. They said EE in Liverpool One may do it at the store. A complete waste of time and money, I now have to visit EE in Liverpool. I've had no choice than to purchase a new phone and have this appeasement effort by Google done when EE can fit me in.One thing is for certain; I'll not be buying a Google phone again and would advise others to take heed of what may happen in the future with Google products.Could it be that this is a test dummy run to see how many people won't have a clue what's happened here and just put it down to a broken device and purchase a new Google product?Could this be the start of a new trend to actually nobble phones using updates to boost sales? It's a major cockup for sure. How could something like this happen and leave many people without phones? Was it a genuine mistake or planned? Why was this update not tested on all phone models before it was rolled out? I guess we'll never get the truth, but I'll not be chancing this again with Google gear.

Ethical misuse of technology

The I$raeli military reportedly uses Google Photos facial recognition feature as part of its mass surveillance of Pa!estinians in Ga_za. The I$raeli military's usage violates Google own policies, which forbid using Google Photos "to promote activities (...) that cause serious and immediate harm to people or animals."

Great support

Bit frustrated by a change to the Theme which messed up my Site Title by wrapping the text. However, the help desk advised me how to sort it and did so in a very efficient and effective manner

I have a system now set up that I know is going to move me forward in the ecommerce world. I have received wonderful, ongoing help and the program is reliable and very good. I am a tiny one-person company and I am positive if I can do this, anyone could!

The wait time was reasonable

The wait time was reasonable. Ana answered my question accurately and gave me the relevant page to solve my problem. I waited until March 4th to reload the limited view book I am working on. Her response was a few days earlier.

Paid for a perk in 2019

Paid for a perk in 2019, as of today I never received it. DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE.For whatever reason when I submitted a review for Indiegogo, Trustpilot defaulted to my wife's name so Indiegogo didn't recognize the perk transaction. Bottom line is I never received the perk I paid for. Eric Cope

Big fan of Depositphotos

I have 5 blogs, and have been using Depositphotos for years. They're a great company & if you need high quality photos (that won't break the bank), don't hesitate to sign up!

The first person

The first person, rescheduled twice and then was a no show without calling. The second person is fantastic. I am going to discuss her schedule for the next cleaning appointment. She was professional, polite and went beyond what I expected.

Review of wayfair

Read the FINE PRINT

I write these to showcase my own mistakes - usually not reading the fine print - hoping to save someone else a headache. I bought another person in my family a large grill. I'll save you all the fam drama lol But it's no longer needed. I can't return it because I have to pay return shipping cost. There's another retailer I have dealt with that has initials of WM that delivers large items like this, and will pick up if you have to return it .. so I guess I'm used to that. The return shipping would be more than the price of the whole grill, which was $119 on sale. They offered me a refund amount of $19 .. yes that's right. Nineteen dollars lol Needless to say I won't be using WF for large purchases anymore. So please just know before you go, so to speak. Know the return policies before you buy.*Reply to Wayfair: I get it now, and I looked into the return after the fact my mistake. Just trying to help someone else not make the same one. I took the $19 refund problem solved.

Terrible experience at faro airport

Terrible experience at faro airport. The assistant called goretti was the most unpleasant and rude lady and should not work in retail. I asked how much a lipgolss was to have it pushed in my face. I couldn't see the price as it was so small. I will never buy from here again and your staff need proper training in customer service. Terrible experience

Review of mercari

Mercari - A Very Difficult Company

I purchased a Gund bear on 11/29/24. I received it yesterday and it is broken. This bear is supposed to recite The Night Before Christmas; it only get 2 sentences and stops. Mercari makes it impossible to contact the seller. I down loaded their app and it offers no way to contact anyone or leave a review.
