Extremely Disappointing Customer Support Experience with Facebook/Meta

I have been a loyal Facebook user for over 15 years, utilizing the platform for personal and professional purposes, including managing several pages and groups with thousands of followers. However, my recent experience with Facebook's customer support has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.For the past day, I have been attempting to resolve an issue with my account, but have been unsuccessful in getting any assistance from Facebook/Meta support. Their Live Chat Support consistently displays long wait times, with messages suggesting to try again in an hour. When I finally managed to connect, the estimated two-minute wait turned into an endless loop of waiting with no response from the support staff.The most absurd aspect of this ordeal is the email notification I received stating, "For your protection, no one can see you on Facebook until you secure your account. We've also reversed some changes that were made to your two-factor authentication settings." This notification informed me that my two-factor authentication settings had been reverted to a mobile phone number that I disconnected from Facebook two years ago, rendering me unable to access my account.Despite providing my passport and alternative identification, Facebook/Meta support has been unable to verify my identity, claiming issues with my ID without specifying any details. As an IT professional with a strong understanding of security measures, I find it baffling that a platform of Facebook's magnitude fails to provide adequate customer support and account security.In addition to the ineffectiveness of their support channels, Facebook's overall decline in quality since the transition to Meta is evident. It's concerning that even apps like Meta Business Suite, supposedly designed for communication with customers, fail to provide access to Facebook Messenger and other essential features.As a user who values privacy and security, I understand the importance of identity verification measures. However, when legitimate identification documents are rejected without justification, one can't help but question Facebook/Meta's commitment to user satisfaction and security.In conclusion, my experience with Facebook/Meta's customer support has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. As a long-time user and advocate for the platform, I sincerely hope that they take steps to improve their support infrastructure and prioritize the needs of their users.
